Zero Reliance Pair · $79 one-time

Your notes, from your home to your own server.

Your home Glassy appliance already runs on your hardware. The Pair lets it sync to a Glassy instance you run on your own VPS instead of through ours — two machines talking only to each other. Nothing in the middle, because there is nothing in the middle.

The Pair attaches to your account, so the purchase happens in the Store. Creating the account takes one step and costs nothing. Setting up the receiving instance first? Read the self-hosting guide.

$79 once · perpetual for beta/v1 buyers · 14-day refund · grants are never revoked

The shape of it.

Your hardware

Home appliance

The Glassy build already running at home.

⇅ TLS · your token

Your VM, your domain

Your instance

The same installer, pointed at your own server.

The pairing token is minted on your instance and used between the two machines. It is not a Glassy credential and it does not pass through us — which is why we cannot see the path, and also why we cannot rescue it. That trade is the product.

Fifteen minutes, four steps.

  1. 1

    Stand up your own instance

Any small VM will do — 1 vCPU and 1 GB is plenty. Run the self-host installer on your own domain with the HTTPS overlay. It is the same software your home appliance already runs.

  2. 2

Mint the receiving instance’s sync token

Sign in to your new instance as its owner, open Settings → Cloud Sync, and generate this instance’s sync token. This is the credential the home appliance will present; it never reaches our servers.

  3. 3

Hand the token to the home appliance

On the appliance: Settings → Cloud Sync → “Pair token”, paste the receiver-minted token and choose Save Cloud Sync settings. It is stored encrypted and applies from the next cycle — no restart.

  4. 4

Point your home appliance at it

Still on the appliance, set “Syncs to” to your instance’s URL and save. The URL and token resolve every cycle. Your notes then flow home ↔ your instance.

The founding terms.

  • ✓ Perpetual for beta and v1 buyers — the founding terms. Future sales of the Pair may be term-licensed after v1.
  • ✓ Existing grants are never revoked and never touched. Your key is yours.
  • ✓ We never reach into running systems. Once paired, the data path is your appliance and your instance — we are not in it and cannot see it.
  • ✓ Support scope, stated honestly: product bugs are ours; your VPS is yours.

What this isn’t.

Not a hosted service

We do not run your instance. There is no Glassy-managed server waiting for you at the end of this — the whole point is that there is not.

Not a new place to store your notes

Your data lives on your appliance and on your instance, both of which are yours. The Pair sets up the link between them.

Not a reason to leave your plan

Pro and Clear keep working as they do. The Pair is an add-on for people who want their sync path to be theirs, not a replacement for the workspace.

Already on Clear?

The Pair setup is included while your Clear membership is active. You do not need to buy it twice. Buying the Pair is how you keep the capability if the membership ends — a pair you have already configured keeps running either way.

What Clear includes →

The Pair, configured

Your appliance, your instance, your key.

The Pair is a setting, not a service. Point the appliance at your own instance, generate the token there, and the data path never touches us.

Agent connections in the Pair: an active MCP key, the Vault provider badge, and the Add Agent Connection form.
The receiving instance, with the agent connection live.

Questions people actually ask.

Is this a subscription? +
No. It is $79 once. There is nothing to cancel and no renewal date. Future sales may be term-licensed after v1; your purchase is not.
How is this different from Cloud Sync? +
Cloud Sync moves your notes through Glassy’s servers, which is what makes “open it anywhere on any device” work. The Pair points your appliance at an instance you run instead. We are not in the path, so we cannot see the traffic, throttle it, or switch it off.
Do I need Clear or Pro? +
No. It is $79 once. Pro yearly and active Clear include it while the plan is active; the first 2,000 Clear members keep it permanently. Buying it is how anyone else keeps it after a membership ends.
What happens if my membership lapses? +
A pair you have already configured keeps running. What lapses is the ability to configure new pairings, not the pairing you already made.
Do I need to buy a server from you? +
No. Any VPS or home server you already have works. We do not sell, host, or administer it. You bring the machine and the domain; we document the steps honestly.
Does the Pair change how my appliance verifies membership? +
No. The appliance’s membership check is a separate relationship and stays exactly as it is. One setting names the sync peer; the other names the membership oracle.

Own the path between them.

One purchase. Your appliance, your instance, your rules.
