Glassy runs a real MCP server on the official
@modelcontextprotocol/sdk v2.

your bookmarks, and your notes in a single search. No separate installs.
The glassy_obsidian_proxy tool routes
Obsidian's Local REST API through Glassy's MCP gateway. One connection covers both Glassy-native
content and your vault — no extra Obsidian MCP server to configure.
Live Obsidian sync requires a self-hosted Glassy instance — the cloud server
cannot reach 127.0.0.1 on your machine.

Does this replace Obsidian?
No. Glassy is for the work around the vault: capture, search, sharing, and local AI where it helps. Obsidian stays open on your desktop. We just give it a web cockpit.
Will my Markdown survive?
That is the promise to protect. The page should never ask you to trade a durable vault for prettier lock-in.
What about the MCP server?
It runs on your server, reads from your data, and is gated by your API key. You control what's indexed and what's queryable.
